The first gift is Administration

Scriptural References: I Corinthians 12:28, Acts 6:1-7, Exodus 18:13-26.

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person is able to organize and outline the plans for accomplishment of the church’s missions and ministries. 

Actions: Brings order to organizational chaos; works out plans and strategies to reach identified goals; helps organizations or groups become more efficient; and organizes people, ministries or events.

The second gift  Craftsmanship

Scriptural References: Exodus 28:3, 31:2-11, 35:30-35, and 36:1. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power  of the Holy Spirit, this person may create, design, construct and/or decorate objects that will enhance ministry. 

Actions: Uses imagination to work with raw materials; constructs items that will in-crease the effectiveness of ministry; and uses imagination to gather materials and/or accessories to decorate.

The third gift is Creative Communication

Scriptural References: Deuteronomy 31:19, Isaiah 44:22-24, I Chronicles 6:31-33, Joshua 18:7-9, Isaiah 30:8, Jeremiah 30:1-3, I Corinthians 16:20-22, Revelation 1:18-20, Psalm 45:1-2. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person can use unique ways to express the ministry and message of God. 

Actions: Uses creative ways to deliver God’s word to His people using drama, art, music, poetry, written word and/or speech; captures and holds peoples’ attention as they consider the message of Christ; challenges peoples’ perception of God with multiple artistic endeavors.

The fourth gift is Discernment

Scriptural References: I Corinthians 12:8-10, Acts 5:1-4, Matthew 16:21-23, I Corinthians 2:3-14, Mark 2:6-8.

 Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person possesses the ability to distinguish the truth from false teaching. 

Actions: Protects the spiritual health of the Body of Christ by calling into question words or behaviors that seem inappropriate or incongruent with scripture; protects the spiritual health of the body of Christ by accurately and appropriately identifying false prophets, destructive antagonists, deceiving motives and intentions of others; speaks the truth in love in an effort to keep people safe from the power of sin and the devil.

The fifth gift is Encouragement

Scriptural References: Romans 12:8, Acts 11:22-24, Acts 15:30-32, Acts 11:22-24, Philippians 2:1-2, I Thessalonians 5:10-11. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person will motivate, comfort, strengthen, affirm, inspire and console others in their joys and trials. 

Actions: Challenges, comforts and/or confronts others to trust and hope in the hope that is ours in Christ; motivates others toward personal and spiritual growth; gently confronts others to live according to God’s will; comes along side of those who are discouraged to strengthen and reassure them.

The sixth gift is Faith

Scriptural References: I Corinthians 12:7-11, Hebrews 11:1, Romans 4:18-21, Matthew 21:21-22, Mark 5:34, Mark 10:46-52. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person possesses and acts on an unshakable trust and deep conviction that God faithfully and reliably keeps His promises. 

Actions: seeks God’s will and trusts in Him at all times; demonstrates an unwavering belief in God’s ability and love; is not easily led astray by the pull of sin and the magnetism of the world; is a powerful witness to God’s faithfulness and love; and often inspires others to live out God’s vision for the church through deeds of service.

The seventh gift is Generosity - Giving

Scriptural References: I Thessalonians 2:8, Luke 21:1-4, Romans 12:6-8, 2 Corinthians 9:11-13, 2 Corinthians 8:1-3. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person contributes willingly and enthusiastically their money, time and/or talents with others.

The eighth gift is Helping

Scriptural References: Romans 12:6-8, Acts 6:1-4, Acts 20:34-35, I Corinthians 12:28, Acts 9:36, Isaiah 41:5-6. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person compassionately assists others with practical deeds. 

Actions: Is ready and willing to provide relief, aid, and/or support, especially at a time of extreme need; finds spiritual value in assisting others so that they may perform God’s work; knows that God has a purpose greater than the tasks; spontaneously offers help to others.

The ninth gift is Hospitality

Scriptural References: Romans 12:13, I Timothy 5:9-10, I Peter 4:9, 3 John 1:8, 1 Timothy 6:18, Titus 1:7-9. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person serves others by supplying the needs of food, shelter and/or companionship. Actions: offers a venue where people feel valued and cared for; greets newcomers so they feel at home in a congregation; finds/creates ways for people to get to know each other and build relationships.

The tenth gift is Intercession

Scriptural References: Romans 8:26-27; John 17:20-21; 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Colossians 1:9-12; Colossians 4:12-13. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person will "pray unceasingly" on behalf of and for others. 

Actions: Prays earnestly on behalf of someone or a specific cause; prays in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit; asks others what their specific prayer requests/needs are; prays confidently

The eleventh gift is Knowledge - Knowing

Scriptural References: I Corinthians 12:8, Mark 2:6-8, John 1:45-50, Mark 5:21-23, Mark 5:25-28. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person has a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and has an insight into Biblical truths. 

Actions: Searches the scriptures for insight, truth and understanding; shares Christ in ways that make Him personal and real to others; and organizes information for teaching and/or practical use.

The twelfth gift Mercy

Scriptural References: Romans 12:8; Matthew 5:7; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 10:25-37. 

Explanation: This person has an exceptional ability to perform acts of kindness and compassion to others. 

Actions: Performs deeds of unmerited love; has a deep empathy for those in need; shows compassion for those who are suffering or in trouble; spontaneously offers help to others; expresses love, grace, and dignity to those facing hardships and crisis; and concerns themselves with individual or social issues that oppress people. 

The thirteenth gift is Forthtelling-Proclamation

Scriptural References: Romans 12:6, I Corinthians 12:8-10, I Corinthians 12:28, I Corinthians 13:2, Ephesians 4:11, 2 Peter 1:19-21. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person is able to see the work and will of God in various events of the world, both large and small, and clearly communicate the meaning of these events to others. Actions: discerns and reveals God's activity and will to others; communicates divine intentions and purposes of God's activities in the world; speaks God's messages with certainty and conviction; identifies God's work and patiently listen for God's unveiling; and sees God's footprints in various events and circumstances and reveals to people where God is leading.

The fourteenth gift is Shepherding-Nurturing

Scriptural References: Matthew 23:37b, Ephesians 4:11-13, John 10:1-5, Psalm 28:9, Psalm 78:72, Jeremiah 3:15, Acts 20:28, I Peter 5:2. 

Explanation: Through the calling and power of the Holy Spirit, this person will guide, protect, shelter, teach and encourage people to be more Christ-like and reject temptation. 

Actions: leads and establishes trust with the whole person in their spiritual walk; watches over and guides a "flock" as Jesus, the Good Shepherd, did; and advocates and models a life that is fully devoted to Christ.
